Mel, while in the military as an image interpreter specialist, correctly drew what was supposedly hidden under a canvas. "It totally freaked them out". Because of this and other similar predictions, Mel was asked to go to Ft. Meade by Col. D. Press as the U.S. Government’s first official remote viewer. Five other people were identified and enlisted for the initial Army RV project, which proved to have an accuracy rate high enough to qualify it as a very necessary intelligence-gathering tool used in real-world tasking on foreign military and political targets.
